Simple Garlic, Yellow Rice

This side dish takes 20 minutes and is packed with flavor from the turmeric and garlic in the recipe. You will love adding this to your side dish rotation and can make it for my Mediterranean bowls, with chicken, etc;

  • Pot

  • Wooden Spoon

  • Garlic Press (Optional)

  • Measuring Cups


  • 3 Servings


  • 1 cup long grain rice

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric

  • 1/8 cup diced onion

  • 2 cups chicken stock

Recipe Instructions:

  1. Set pot to low-medium heat. Cut onion and garlic and add to your pot to sauté.

  2. Once onion and garlic are softened and translucent, add long grain rice and stir for 1 minute.

  3. Add turmeric, chicken stock, bay leaf, garlic salt, and bring to a boil.

  4. Reduce heat to low and fluff rice when ready to serve. (Follow cooking directions for the long grain rice you have selected.)

  5. Serve rice.
